And Into the Forest we Go: Hooking Realistic Animals
And Into the Forest we Go: Hooking Realistic Animals
This is an “open-class” style, where you are welcome to bring a pattern of your choice featuring forest creatures: wildlife and birds, and we will work together to colour plan and use fibres and hooking styles to bring your piece to life.
Of course, you are more than welcome to bring a pet pattern to work on!
In this virtual workshop of one private session and six sessions (12 hrs in total), and paying special attention to each feature of your animal, you will bring the appropriate detail to your creation. We will review the following topics:
Colour planning
Style of hooking
Order of hooking animal areas
Hooking key features of each animal
Together we will colour plan your piece, and organize your collection of wools and alternative fibres to create your realistic wildlife piece. Through the use of visuals, lecture and student workbook, you will learn how to hook key elements of your animal face, fur & feathers, and background.
You may work with your own pattern or contact the Instructor at s.clarke2997@gmail.com to request a design from a photo. Note that portrait style/small patterns are ideal (e.g., cushion size). Bring colour magazines or photographs of your animal for visuals.
