*NEW* Zoom Workshop: OHCG School (2021) - Hooking Realistic Animals
This is an “open-class” style, where you are welcome to bring a pattern of your choice featuring wildlife, birds, or a pet and we will work together to colour plan and use fibres and hooking styles to bring your piece to life.
In this virtual workshop of three sessions (6 hrs in total), and paying special attention to each feature of your animal, you will bring the appropriate detail to your creation. We will review the following topics:
· Colour planning
· Style of hooking
· Order of hooking animal areas
· Hooking key features of each animal
Together we will colour plan your piece, and organize your collection of wools and alternative fibres to create your realistic wildlife piece. Through the use of visuals, lecture and student workbook, you will learn how to hook key elements of your animal face, fur & feathers, and background.
You may work with your own pattern or contact the Instructor at s.clarke2997@gmail.com to request a design from a favourite personal photo. Note that portrait style/small patterns are ideal (e.g., cushion size). Bring colour magazines or photographs of your animal for visuals.
The duration of teaching hours in the OHCG School is much shorter this year. I will offer an optional weekly 2-hr “open class” using zoom to help you complete your pieces. Price “at the door” is $15/weekly.
